Colorado police have charged two suspects with murder and abuse of a corpse after a child’s body was found inside a suitcase and metal container south of Denver.

Pueblo Police were dispatched to the storage facility on Jan. 20 for a follow-up investigation after reports of suspicious activity. A person at the scene found a metal container inside a storage unit filled with hardened concrete. Investigators searched the container and found the body of a child buried inside.

Following this tragic discovery, police arrested Jesus Dominguez and Corena Minjarez. Police said the suspects raised the possibility that the children were in Phoenix, Arizona. But when police investigated this possibility, it turned out to be a dead end.
The suspects were initially released, but police soon investigated further troubling relationships between the duo and the victim.
Earlier this month, police tracked Minjarez’s vehicle through a local scrapyard. On February 6, officers executed a search warrant and discovered the boy’s body stuffed into a suitcase and locked in a trunk.
On February 15, Pueblo police confirmed through DNA testing that bodies found in two locations were those of the missing Dominguez children.
