College Football Playoff Officially Expanding To 12 Teams After Unanimous Approval Of 5+7 Model

The College Football Playoff is finally in full swing!

it was announced The CFP announced Tuesday that the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a 5+7 model that would allow for a 12-team playoff starting in the 2024 season. The 5+7 format means the top five teams from the conference champions and the next top seven teams will participate in the college postseason.

After months of delays due to the collapse of the Pac-12, the College Football Playoff made its decision Tuesday morning during a meeting between the 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame President Rev.
