‘Sherri’ exec found dead after show investigation

“Shelly” Shaw is saddened by the death of one of its top executives during a financial investigation at Shaw.

Matt Azle, head of Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show of the same name, was found dead in his home in Piermont, New York, on February 13, a law enforcement source confirmed to Page Six.

Police are refusing to comment further as it is an “open investigation,” but sources said it appears Azul committed suicide.

Azle, whose main job was managing production and overseeing the budget for “Shelly,” was under investigation for the show at the time of her tragic death, Page Six has learned.

Sources said multiple departments have complained about petty cash issues, and parent company Debmar-Mercury recently discovered that rent for the show’s Chelsea, New York, studio has not been paid since September. It is said that he did.

“There was real concern among the staff that the show was going to be canceled. Debmar had to step in,” said a source familiar with the situation.

Another source said the show was not affected and that Debmar-Mercury was continuing to work on “Shelly.”
