How auctioning off Mike Bossy’s gear rekindled family memories

ST. LOUIS — Mike Bossie has always been a peacemaker in his home.

Whenever his daughters, Josiane and Tanya, fought, he told them to stop because he didn’t want them to fight. So when Bossy passed away in April 2022 and shared her memorabilia with his daughters, each supported the other’s decision. Josiane intended to sell her half at auction. Tanya will keep her stuff.

“I would say there was some nervousness at first,” Jogian told the Post in an interview to promote the auction, which closes this weekend. “But… everything worked out really, really well. … What he wanted was for me to do what I wanted to do with my part, and for my sister to do what she wanted to do. My father was someone else’s decision. So she respected my decision and I respected hers.”

The collection being sold by Heritage Auctions includes Bossy’s 1980 and ’81 championship rings, as well as numerous game-worn jerseys and pucks.
