Valtteri Bottas debuts perfect helmet for 2024 F1 season

The 2023 F1 season saw a number of big wins.

Max Verstappen won 19 races last season, breaking the mark set by Alberto Ascari in 1952 and setting a new record for winning percentage in a single season. This gave Verstappen the drivers’ championship with a 290 point lead over teammate Sergio Perez. Thanks to their 1-2 finish in the drivers’ standings, Red Bull took first place in the constructors’ championship with a 451-point lead over Mercedes.

Secondly, this is what Valtteri Bottas did with his helmet game.

As we noted throughout last season, Bottas continued to lap the field when it comes to special helmets. Bottas, often designed by his partner Tiffany Cromwell, created several designs a year ago, including this “Botman” design that pays homage to Pac-Man, this “Belgian Delights” concept, and his efforts at the Canadian Grand Prix. I showed you that wonderful lid.

Ahead of Thursday’s test, Bottas introduced the world to a helmet he dubbed the ‘Northern Lights’ for the start of the 2024 F1 season.

The design pays homage to the Northern Lights, which Bottas says are often seen in his native Finland. The design also includes the North Star that, according to Bottas’ statistics, has guided Finns for decades. Additionally, the helmet depicts numerous constellations visible in the northern sky.

It will be interesting to see what theme Bottas will come up with during the season, but this is another strong effort by the driver and his team.
