Atlanta police have released video of officers arresting a fugitive on a flight from Miami, about a month after he successfully eluded police during a traffic stop.

The video shows a police officer walking down the aisle of the plane on February 17th and handcuffing Dorian Barley, 39, in front of other passengers.

“Come here, get up and let’s go. Now,” the officer is heard saying to Burley, who gets up from his seat.

“What the hell? Um-? What the hell is going on?” a voice was heard before Burley was escorted off the plane.

Police said they first stopped Burley on Jan. 19 for a window tint violation.

In footage from that traffic stop, an officer can be heard saying, “I have to take you into custody quickly because I don’t have any identification,” before Burley runs away from the scene.

Less than two minutes later, the man lost control of the vehicle, “abandoned it in the roadway and fled the scene,” Atlanta police said.

“Eventually, officers will lose sight of the suspect and the suspect will evade arrest,” he added.

After investigating, police learned that the car Burley was driving was suspected to have been stolen in December and secured multiple warrants for his arrest.

“On February 17, 2024, Atlanta Police received information that a suspect was arriving on a flight from Miami,” the department said in a statement. “After confirming that the suspect was on the plane, the same officer from whom the suspect had initially fled boarded the plane and took the suspect into custody.”
