Google has announced that it is suspending Gemini AI, its super-awake AI image generation tool, because the tool created “inaccurate” historical photos.
“We are already working to address recent issues with Gemini’s image generation functionality. While we do this, we will pause human image generation and re-release an improved version soon. “We plan to do so,” Google said in an X/Twitter post on Thursday.

The tech giant’s statement updates an announcement on Wednesday that it was “aware that Gemini provides inaccuracies in some of its historical image production.”
Google added that it was “working to immediately improve this type of depiction.” “Gemini’s AI image generation generates a variety of people. People all over the world are using it, so that’s generally a good thing.”
“But we’re missing the point here,” the tech giant argued.

Google has been forced to apologize for “providing inaccuracies in some depictions of historical image generation” as users investigate how masters of the universe have become aware of new tools.
Google Bard’s head of product Jack Kracik apologized Wednesday for the “inaccurate” images, saying, “We are aware that Gemini has contributed inaccuracies to some historical image-generated depictions. We are working to fix this immediately.”
“We will continue to do this for open-ended prompts (images of dog walkers are universal!),” Krawczyk added. “There are more nuances in the historical context, and we will make further adjustments to accommodate that.”
