Tribal leader calls for bipartisanship in address to Wisconsin Legislature

Leaders of the Forrest County Potawatomi Nation called on Wisconsin lawmakers and other state leaders Thursday to seek bipartisan solutions to issues such as human trafficking and affordable housing.

Potawatomi Chairman James Crawford delivered the annual State of the Tribe address on the floor of Congress. In addition to the members of Congress, other attendees included leaders of the state’s 11 other federally recognized tribes, state senators, Wisconsin Supreme Court justices, Attorney General Josh Kaul, and Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski. was also included.

“Despite our differences, Wisconsin’s tribal and state leaders can and must continue to work together and work together for the greater good,” Crawford said. said.
