A 17-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed in New York City’s Times Square on Thursday after a brawl involving dozens of people, including immigrants.
New York City police responded to reports of a stabbing on West 42nd Street just after 5:30 p.m., New York City police told FOX News Digital. The boy was found with a stab wound to his lower back and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where his condition was stable.
A person of interest was detained by police. A police spokesperson did not know the details of the altercation that led to the stabbing.
“I saw someone running…and there was blood coming out of his back, blood everywhere,” eyewitness Bel Mohammed told the New York Post.

Authorities recovered a large knife at the scene. A 22-year-old man was arrested, a police source told the newspaper. Six other people, including three migrant teenagers, were also detained, the report said.
Authorities were searching for several other suspects. The teenage victim was chased by the group and then stabbed with a knife, the New York Post reported.
Times Square has seen multiple violent crimes involving immigrants in recent weeks.
Several immigrants have been charged with kicking and punching two NYPD officers as they were directed to move along 42nd Street last month. Many of them were initially released without bail after their arrest, prompting harsh criticism of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
In a separate incident, teenage immigrant Jesús Alejandro Rivas Figoa, 15, from Venezuela, allegedly robbed a security guard at a sports clothing store in Times Square before opening fire inside the store.

A tourist from Brazil was shot but survived. Police said Rivas-Figoa fled the scene and fired at officers who chased him on foot through the city and subway.
He was eventually arrested in Yonkers, a suburb just north of the Bronx. He is charged with attempted murder. Police said earlier this month that other migrants, particularly Venezuelans, were taking part in moped robberies and pickpockets.
