Jalen Brunson’s dad called him ‘f–king bum’ during NBA 3-point contest

Jalen Brunson’s father had a few choice words for him during the 3-point contest during last weekend’s NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.

Brunson revealed that his father, Rick, called the Knicks’ point guard, who played against Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young, a “shithole.”

upon Podcast “Roommate Show”Brunson, who co-hosts with Knicks teammate Josh Hart, said he heard someone on the bench swearing at him this week.

“The bald guy behind the bench…I heard him say, ‘Eyo, you son of a bitch!'” Brunson said. “I said, ‘Who just said that?’ My father.”

Brunson also said his father, a Knicks assistant, made fun of him for his missed shots.

“He was like, ‘Oh, with that bonus, we could have finished the basement,'” Branson said.

Hart, who was also Brunson’s teammate at Villanova, chose the coach’s team.

“That’s right,” Hart said jokingly. “That’s a very valid point.”

The older Brunson played nine seasons in the NBA with eight different teams, including three with the Knicks.

He played in 69 games with New York and was on the Knicks team that reached the NBA Finals in 1999.

Despite the rebuke, Rick also praised his son for being named to his first NBA All-Star team.

“There was a time when you wanted to be like me. And now I wish I could have been like you when I was your age.” Rick said in a video the Knicks shared on X..

“I love you! Congratulations on appearing in your first All-Star Game!”

In his first game back after the hiatus, Brunson had 21 points and 12 assists in the Knicks’ 110-96 win over the 76ers.
