A Mississippi police officer was arrested by his own police officer after he allegedly tried to leave a sporting goods store with stolen shoes on his feet.

“We’re going to put her in jail,” the chief said. “It’s embarrassing for her department, but we’re going to treat her like anyone else.”
The disgraced officer was initially placed on administrative leave, but was immediately fired after the Columbus City Council voted unanimously Thursday to fire her.

“We have a job to do, and we are held to higher standards. And the community is just starting to trust us, and it really hurts to take this gut punch. But they also fulfilled their duty to the community,” Daughtry said.
