NYC Officials Indict Woman for ‘Intentionally’ Ramming Policeman with Car

On January 17th, a woman was charged with intentionally hitting a New York City police officer with her car, causing him to break his leg.

In a press release Friday, Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin L. Bragg Jr. (D) said: announced The person charged is 24-year-old Sahara Dura, who was reportedly high on marijuana at the time of the incident.

The suspect was charged with one count of attempted first-degree assault, one count of attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, two counts of second-degree assault, one count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs; He only had one count of reckless driving.

Dura is accused of driving a black Lexus northbound in the southbound lanes of Park Avenue for several blocks, prosecutors said.

She weaved in and out of traffic, changing speeds until she reached East 71st Street, where she stopped in the middle of the intersection, blocked by traffic.

A nearby police officer approached DULA’s car on foot and directed her to the appropriate lane. DULA did not respond and accelerated, hitting the man with her car, causing him to fall onto the hood of the car and to the ground. She was eventually arrested by another police officer in the area.

According to Breitbart News, when investigators spoke with Dula after the incident, she reportedly stated that she intentionally hit the officer, and the newspaper reported that she was a member of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. He also points out that he is an activist.

“Fuck these cops! He didn’t move!” she said at the time of the incident. The woman then reportedly said, “Fuck these cops.” It’s a lesson for him and hopefully he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore.”

Officials said the officer involved continues to be in pain and has not been able to return to work.

The number of police officers injured in incidents with criminals in Democratic-run New York City has increased in recent years, Breitbart News reported Sunday.

In 2023, 5,363 police officers will be injured in the line of duty.
