Nathan Wade “made hire-or-fire decisions” for Fulton County District Attorney’s Office employees following Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis’ election victory in November 2020, Wade said. Sources familiar with his relationship with Willis spoke exclusively to Breitbart News.
The revelation of Wade’s previously unreported position as a former personnel decision-maker in the district attorney’s office raised ethical and conflict of interest concerns. It also raises questions about whether Wade and Willis were candid about the timeline of their affair.
A source told Breitbart News: “Mr. Wade was the prosecutor in the Trump case and he was the one who selected the people in his office.”
Mr. Wade led a transition team of 10 to 12 people who interviewed and evaluated current employees to ensure that Mr. Willis remained in his newly won office just weeks after winning the November election, sources said. said. They had first-hand knowledge of the environment within the district attorney’s office, which they characterized as “corrupt.”
Another source told Breitbart News that Mr. Wade was responsible for deciding which of the 250 office employees would remain at Willis. “Mr. Willis stated that virtually everyone in the office was laid off and essentially had to reapply for jobs, submit applications, and schedule times to go for interviews.” said the official. “I had to reapply to be able to meet with everyone, from lawyers to paralegals to assistants to investigators.”
“And in that room, in my interview, there were a lot of people other than Fanny Willis. That was her transition team. I’m sure Nathan Wade was in that room because he was the main character. I know everything about it,” the source said. “And I was a little confused because I had never met him before.”
“Probably about 10 people participated in the interview,” another source said of the process of re-interviewing Mr. Wade. “Nathan definitely got up and moved around and had control in the room. Wade hired an entire office of 250 employees,” the source said. “I told him my work history and they would sit there and look at me and say, “We’ll email you about the decision.” And Wade said: Then he looked at Willis. Officials told Breitbart News that they initially did not know who Wade was during the transition process, but questioned why Willis would outsource the transition process to an unknown party. A source questioned, “Why did he participate in the hiring process and make decisions about who to hire and fire, even though he is not an employee and is not allowed to enter the company?”
After the re-interview process, Mr. Wade and Mr. Willis “began getting rid of people who were getting too close to and managing” the firm’s operations, the second person said. Sources say Willis violated friends and family policy by “hiring friends and family” and concealing fungible state and county funds from the county.
A source familiar with the internal affairs of her office said, “All of the people who were involved in her campaign have become close aides.”
In January, Trump and co-defendant Mike Roman accused Willis of maintaining an inappropriate romantic relationship with Wade. Willis and Wade took the stand in February to testify about whether their relationship disqualified Willis from prosecuting Trump.

If the presiding judge determines that Willis had an actual conflict of interest with his girlfriend or fellow prosecutor, he could remove Willis from the case and hand former President Donald Trump a landslide victory.
Wade claimed his relationship with Willis began in 2022, a year after Willis filed suit against Trump in 2021.
Wade’s story seems shaky. Robin Yearty, a former Fulton County district attorney and friend of Willis’s since college, testified that Willis definitely had an affair with Wade starting in 2019. Additionally, cell phone data obtained from AT&T through his subpoena contradicts Mr. Wade’s testimony.
