The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) announced Sunday afternoon that it was responding to a fire on the grounds of the Air Force Academy.
CSFD said assistance was requested for mutual aid on the AFA property due to the fire. A total of 31 CSFD personnel were dispatched to the scene, the ministry said.

Large-scale fire completely destroys house, death toll rises to 10
According to AFA, the fire started at the south end of the academy, north of the Pine Housing area.
Guests and residents are asked to avoid the area and follow the instructions of first responders. No evacuation orders have been issued yet.
CSFD units responding to the scene included Wildland 4, Brush 15, Brush 20, Brush 22, Battalion Chief 4, and Special Operations Force 52.
