Fighters in Congo, Gaza, Myanmar, Ukraine, Haiti, Sudan and other countries are “turning a blind eye” to international law in general and the United Nations in particular, the globalist organization’s chief Antonio Guterres despaired on Monday.
As the UN’s top human rights body held its latest meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, a veteran Portuguese socialist warned that the world was becoming “less safe by the day.”
He slammed countries that ignore UN directives and unelected officials who call for immediate action to end the conflict.
“Our world is changing at warp speed,” Guterres told the United Nations Human Rights Council. “The rise in conflict is causing unprecedented suffering. But human rights remain constant.”

AP report He reiterated his frequent calls for debt relief for some of the world’s poorest countries and more spending to fight climate change.
He defended the Palestinian refugee aid agency, praising UNRWA as the “backbone” of Gaza relief efforts at a time when Israeli officials have called for its dismantling over corruption and links to Hamas terrorists.
Volker Türk, head of human rights at the United Nations, also said: slammed “Attempts to undermine the legitimacy and operations” of the United Nations and its related agencies.

“The United Nations has become a lightning rod for manipulative propaganda and a scapegoat for policy failures,” he said. “This is a gross destruction of the public interest and a heartless betrayal of the many people whose livelihoods depend on it.”
On Monday, the Council began six weeks of consultations as conflicts continue to persist around the world and the voice of the United Nations is completely ignored.
