Beware the World, Charles Barkley is on Instagram.
The popular NBA on TNT panelist was called out Thursday night by one of his fellow broadcast partners for finally joining the social media app, and was subsequently reprimanded to stay out of trouble.
Kenny Smith broached the subject on air, asking Barkley if he heard correctly that he finally created an Instagram account, to which Barkley admitted with a smile.
That’s when the TNT crew started offering common sense advice about direct messages.
“So you’re going to slide into people’s DMs?” Kenny Smith asked
“I don’t even know what that means,” Barclay replied. Who has the handle charleswbarkley on Instagram?.
As the committee continued to tease Barkley, he looked at Smith and said, “Wait, I want you to teach me how to skate…”
The beloved host was cut off before he could finish his question, advising him that it was not the right thing to do.
“That’s the worst thing you can do in your position,” Smith said.
Barkley was then asked if he knew what it meant to slide into someone’s DMs, and he guessed it correctly.
Barkley revealed that he has someone else doing his posts for him, but insisted he was learning.
“I’ve only had it for about a week,” he said.
Then Adam Lefkow chimed in with some advice of his own.
“If you like something, other people can see it too. So be careful,” he warned.
But Shaquille O’Neal nearly derailed Barkley before he could even start using the popular social media platform.
“You have to hashtag OnlyFans,” Shaq told Barkley, drawing laughs from the rest of the crew.
Confused and naive, Barkley finally asked, “Just my fans?”
Barkley built his name and brand in the NBA on TNT with his charisma and humor, and now that he has Instagram, it’s safe to assume that will only continue on Instagram.
