Jennifer Dulos, 50, went missing on May 24, 2019 and has never been found. Her prosecutors told her jury that her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, attacked her in her New Canaan home and fled in her car with her body. At the time, the two were fighting for a divorce and custody of their five children, and Troconis was Fotis Dulos’ girlfriend and they lived together in separate homes.

Prosecutors said Troconis knew about the plot in advance, suggesting that Troconis answered Fotis Dulos’ cell phone on the morning of May 24, when he was reportedly in New Canaan, and helped create an alibi. He insisted that it must have been. Prosecutors said the man left his cell phone at his home in Farmington, about 110 miles from the Hartford neighborhood.

A few hours later, Troconis and Fotis Dulos went to Hartford, where they dumped trash bags in several neighborhoods. Officers obtained parts of the bag and found clothing, zip ties and other items with the victim’s DNA on them. They also found some of Troconis’s DNA on one of his bags.

Prosecutors argued that the two kept a timeline of their actions in case law enforcement officers wanted to question them.
