There’s nothing like hearing your voice echoed during a radio hit.
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, who covers the Bears beat, reminded us of that when she abruptly ended the interview during a radio appearance in Chicago.
Cronin was scheduled to appear on ESPN Chicago’s Cupp & J. Hood Morning Show on Friday and was asked about No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, who could join the Bears on draft night.
Cronin, seemingly annoyed that he could hear an echo in his voice as he spoke, grabbed wired headphones, clearly said into the microphone, “Okay, this is it,” and left the interview altogether.
Host David Kaplan seemed perplexed, as probably many people were, and said the show’s duo would try to repair the connection and bring her back.
A terrible announcement has been reported It is unclear whether Cronin, who did not return to the show, was cut off because of the station’s clarification or because of her own feed.
Cronin has not yet addressed the incident and subsequently appeared on “SportsCenter.” live hitwhere she did not remove any NSFW language.
However, she said Williams was impressed with the Bears’ “configuration” as they prepare for April’s draft.
Cronin, who previously worked at the Jose Mercury News, joined ESPN, first covering the Vikings before moving south to join the Bears beat in Chicago.
