Elle King took to the stage for the first time since her controversial drunken performance at Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in January.
The 34-year-old country music star performed at the Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona on Friday. The “Ex’s and Oh’s” singer wore a red long-sleeved shirt and paired it with a red and black snakeskin miniskirt and red cowboy boots. King accessorized with a black belt studded with silver studs and hid his eyes with black sunglasses.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards attended King’s set as an audience member and watched King perform his song “Love Go By” on her Instagram Story. Posted on. Richards panned the camera from King’s performance to the musician’s father, Rob Schneider, who was watching offstage.
“Supportive dad,” the TV personality wrote, tagging the actor. King later shared Richards’ post to his own Instagram Story.

On Saturday, King will return as a special guest on Chris Stapleton’s National Roadshow Tour at Petco Park in San Diego, California. She will be heading overseas next week to perform three shows in the UK, with US concert dates scheduled through October.

The singer has postponed several performances since facing backlash after admitting she was “hit hard” during a birthday tribute to Parton on Jan. 19.
In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, the California native can be seen trying to perform Parton’s song “Marry Me.” King cursed profusely, admitted her performance was “terrible,” and joked that people expected her to know her lyrics.

“Just one more thing, just one more thing: Hello, my name is Elle King, and I’m devastated.” When the band suggested they play their own song, , King retorted, “You can hardly play other people’s songs. Let’s see if you can play mine.”
The Grand Ole Opry issued an apology to X, saying, “We deeply regret and apologize for the language used during last night’s second Opry performance.”

Parton broke her silence about the incident in an interview with Extra last month.
“Elle is such an amazing artist,” the “Jolene” singer said. “She’s a great kid, but she’s been through a lot of hard things lately.”

He added: “She just had a little too much to drink, so let’s forgive her, forget it and move on, because she felt worse than anyone else.”
In an interview with E! Parton said she reached out to King and called him a “doll.”
“I called her and said, ‘You know, there’s a lot of F-words out there. Why don’t you just use the right one? Sorry, friend, forget it,'” Parton recalled.
Dr. King has revealed in the past that he struggled with sobriety. In a 2020 interview with Variety magazine, she said that her “awakening period was quite long” but that she is now sober.
