Biden Breaks Hostage Deal Pledge: Monday Arrives, No Agreement

President Joe Biden has broken his promise to reach a deal with Hamas to release Israeli hostages by Monday, March 4th. The pledge came a week ago, on the eve of Michigan’s presidential primary, which faced massive protest voting.

As Breitbart News reported on February 27:

President Joe Biden says he hopes a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war will be in place “by next Monday” and pauses to share his thoughts while enjoying another popular ice cream break.

His comments came after a taped appearance with talk show host Seth Meyers in which he said some progress had been made in ongoing negotiations involving Israeli and Hamas terrorist representatives in Qatar. This was in response to a report.

But that progress was short-lived, and Hamas continued to insist that Israel end the war and leave Gaza as a condition of releasing the hostages. This demand effectively means that Israel could lose the war and Hamas could return to control.

Furthermore, Hamas Rejected Publish the names of the hostages who are still alive. Israel believes 101 of the 134 hostages are still alive. But it wants to know how many hostages remain alive before making major irreversible concessions, such as releasing Palestinian terrorists convicted of deadly attacks against Israel.

The president made this pledge in the face of a protest vote by nearly 100,000 Democrats who voted “irresponsible” for the Gaza war. The hostage deal comes with a temporary ceasefire, but activists want to make it permanent, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that a permanent ceasefire with Hamas remains intact. .

Even though Biden began lowering hopes for a deal over the weekend. pressured The leaders of Egypt and Qatar, the main mediators with Hamas, called for an agreement to be reached. Israel has set a deadline of March 10, the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, to reach an agreement before attacking Hamas in Rafah, its last stronghold in southern Gaza.

according to Quoting the Times of Israel, wall street journalHamas is Said A deal may be more likely to be reached by the first weekend of Ramadan, after a week has passed. While the Biden administration has emphasized the need to avoid conflict during the holy month, Hamas and other terrorist organizations have called for increased “terrorism” during Ramadan.

Israeli government spokesman Avi Heyman said October 7 marks the 150th day of the war started by Hamas, and that Israel is willing and ready to reach an agreement, but the terrorist group’s “unreasonable” demands emphasized that he would not give up.

Heimann added that the terrorist attack that killed two Israeli civilians at a gas station in Samaria (northern West Bank) last week was carried out by Palestinian Authority police officers. Israel opposes President Biden’s efforts to return Gaza to the post-war autonomous government, accusing the Palestinian Authority of supporting terrorism and being corrupt.

In response to a question from Breitbart News about the schedule for the hostage deal, Heiman said that Israel has not yet received a list of surviving Israeli hostages and that hostage visits by the Red Cross are required by international law. He repeated that he had not received any.

“We have destroyed 18 out of 24 battalions of Hamas. …If we do not destroy Hamas, Hamas … will return to their objectives as stated. …October 7 “We will not let that happen. We will aim for complete victory.”

Hyman fired Claim Hamas did not know which hostages were still alive, as the same “game” they had played before.

“It’s not enough to commit war crimes by holding innocent men, women and babies hostage; you also have to leave their families at their mercy.” He said Hamas used the same tactic in the negotiations that led to their release in November. He added that he used it.
