Under the tyranny of Justin Trudeau, Canada continues to move away from freedom and into what can only be described as Hitler-like authoritarianism.
“I have bad news, Glenn,” Rebel News founder Ezra Levant tells Glenn Beck. “Canada just introduced the most draconian and anti-free speech censorship bill in the history of our country and the history of any democracy.”
Prime Minister Trudeau’s bill, called Bill C-63, primarily affects “social media” and is essentially a “hate crimes bill” that “criminalizes human emotion.”
“If there’s a term called ‘fear of hatred’…before your enemy does anything, before he says anything, you can have a judge issue a kind of restraining order, and that restraining order could include house arrest or any kind of restraining order.” May include a waiver of legal firearm use, limiting who you can speak to directly or indirectly, restricting where you can go, and requiring you to submit to urine and blood tests. He said the so-called perpetrator would have to go through this process “even if he has done nothing in the past” simply because he is ‘afraid’ that he might make hate speech in the future. He added that this is a “pre-crime bill.”
But that’s just the beginning of Trudeau’s repressive legislation.
The bill also states that “any Canadian citizen, even a non-citizen, can bring a hate speech charge and, if successful, will receive $20,000 from the target, who will receive up to $50,000.” You have to pay the fine,” Ezra suggests. I would add.
The bill primarily affects social media, so “if someone has a YouTube video, tweet or Facebook comment that they believe creates hate, they can go to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and complain about it. You can. You don’t have to hire a lawyer or spend any money. The government will hold a hearing and if your charges are approved, you’ll receive 20 grand.”
“Wait, wait, wait. Who will get the other 30?” Glenn asks.
“Twenty goes to the complainant and another 50 goes to the government, so you’re looking at a $700,000 bill,” Ezra said, adding that the bill would “also include all the historical works that are online. However, it is still online and you control it.
“They can go back five, 10 years in your history and complain about literally every tweet. [made]Literally every YouTube video,” he said, adding, “This will bankrupt anyone who criticizes the regime.”
Yet somehow things get even worse.
“You can file a complaint confidentially, and the person you are complaining about will not know your identity,” Ezra says. “This is all contained in Bill C-63, and when you put it all together, this is tougher than anywhere else in the world, except maybe Iran and China, which naturally do things like this. This is a bill that goes against the freedom of the people.”
What’s more, “they will enact stand-alone hate crime laws” that could result in “life sentences.”
