Where’s the Beef? Cattle Shortage Hits US

Whether grilling burgers at home or ordering a bone-in filet mignon at a steakhouse, meat lovers should saddle up to spend more on beef as the U.S. faces a shortage of cattle.

The Department of Agriculture’s latest biannual cattle report indicates the number of American beef cows has dropped to the lowest level in more than 50 years – and the inventory isn’t expected to rise anytime soon.
