“We just said ‘I do’ and waited for the final prayer, so I think we were officially married. [But] We stood there for about 40 minutes. ”
The groom soon realized that the bride was not feeling well as she was suffering from dizziness.
“My husband knew something was wrong and kept looking at me,” the wife said. “I started having tunnel vision and getting really lightheaded.”

Video from that day showed Franks collapsing three times at the altar. The audience of 300 people could hear gasps as the woman’s husband and her bridesmaids rushed to help her.
“My husband was really worried about me,” she added. “He told me, ‘It’s okay, it’s okay.’ He really chastised me for being so flustered.”
The guests began egging Franks on, and Franks eventually mustered up the strength to stand up.

It turns out that the bride’s illness is related to the 100-degree heat.
“I actually went to the emergency room the next day because I think I had a mild virus and I was pretty dehydrated,” she said. “It was painful at the time, but now I look back and laugh. It’s funny now.”
“It was such a memorable day! It’s now a family joke.”
The couple is expecting a daughter in April, and Franks said she plans to tell her story someday.
