Political commentator James Carville said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that President Joe Biden has “a huge challenge to overcome in terms of age.”
“Biden’s problem, obviously, but we all know what it is, is that he has a big problem to overcome in terms of age,” Carville said.
Anchor Joe Scarborough said: So I’m just wondering, do you agree with people who are close to Biden, who have been friends with Biden for a long time, that maybe Biden is being a little too guarded? Let that guy get out of there!
“So their decisions, how much he’s going to be out there, need to be made by him, by people who interact with him every day and understand what the benefits and risks are,” Carville said. But for me, when I’m sitting here a thousand miles away and they have a much better understanding of what he can and can’t do, I think, ‘Well, you can’t help him. It’s hard to say, ‘We should do this together.’”
He continued, “I thought it was telling when he didn’t do the Super Bowl interview. But to their credit, they came back and gave him a -I think it helped a little bit by appointing Myers. But I don’t think so. This is a huge obstacle that they’re facing and they have to deal with it. But , the good news for the Biden campaign is that President Trump is very vulnerable. You saw him exposed in the Republican primaries. This little-noticed March 25th trial will be held in New York. It’s going to bring more attention to it now that it’s happening. And he’s also not the most consistent person that ever lived.”
