SOTU guest conceived in rape challenges Biden on abortion: ‘I am that one percent’

A man who became pregnant as a result of rape plans to challenge the Democratic Party’s “radical abortion policies” during President Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday.

Ryan Bomberger, pro-life activist and co-founder of the Radiance Foundation, will be a guest at Virginia Congressman Bob Good’s event. Bomberger is an outspoken opponent of abortion, even in cases of rape. He uses his own life as an example of someone who could have been aborted but whose life was saved through his adoption.

“As someone who was conceived through rape and adopted out of love, I am honored to be Congressman Good’s guest at the State of the Union,” he announced ahead of Biden’s speech.

“President Biden and the Democratic Party are proud of the violent injustice of abortion and are denying the blessings of freedom to our descendants,” he said in a statement. “I believe they 100 percent justify abortion. It’s that 1 percent that we use for our purposes.”

Bomberger went on to accuse Democrats of trying to deny people like him the right to life through abortion policies.

“The same party that violently denied the humanity of people who look like me is the same Democratic Party that violently denied the humanity of people who look like me. Frederick Douglass was also impregnated by rape. “Imagine history without his eloquence and moral clarity for justice,” he said, “slavery.”

The activist argued that Democrats and pro-choice advocates don’t want stories like the one he shared because they contradict the narrative they’ve built around abortion and rape cases.

“Planned Parenthood and its political allies don’t like my story because it shatters their horror story. I’m proof that even from tragedy there can be triumph. “I will continue to fight for the most dehumanized and marginalized among us, because that is what I once was,” he said. We need to do more to protect the vulnerable. No one deserves to die. We all deserve to be loved.”

Louisiana Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy also plans to invite pro-life activist Benjamin Clapper of Louisiana Right to Life to the State of the Union address.

“Ben has dedicated his life to representing those who cannot speak for themselves,” Cassidy said in a statement. “Protecting the unborn child’s right to life is one of our most sacred duties. I am proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Ben at the State of the Union in our unwavering commitment to the sanctity of life.”

The pro-life guests will rival several Democratic guests at tonight’s speech who claim they have been harmed by Republican policies restricting abortion after the 2022 Roe v. Wade reversal. Become.

Among them is Kate Cox, a Texas mother who went to court to seek an illegal abortion. Cox’s story made national headlines last December when she left Texas to seek an abortion due to a fatal fetal malformation. The White House announced in January that she would be a guest at First Lady Jill Biden’s Thursday speech.

Democrats also invited a guest who supports in vitro fertilization, the process of in vitro fertilization, in response to backlash from the Alabama Supreme Court’s ruling that frozen embryos should be considered children under state law.
