Breitbart News reported Thursday that the speech will be Biden’s third and likely last State of the Union address, depending on the outcome of November’s presidential election.

“During the State of the Union address, presidents often tout the accomplishments of the past year and lofty goals for next year,” the outlet explained.

But for Biden, the 2024 speech comes at a particularly dangerous time for him politically and nationally. Former President Donald Trump, Biden’s main opponent in the general election, defeated his last remaining challenger on Super Tuesday and concluded the Republican nomination for president. While Mr. Trump currently leads Mr. Biden in most general election polls and in key battleground states across the country, Mr. Biden’s disapproval rate among American voters is near an all-time low.

Meanwhile, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is boycotting Biden’s State of the Union address because he doesn’t want to “justify” the lies Biden will tell during the ceremony, Breitbart News says. reported on Thursday.

“Thanks to Joe Biden’s disgraceful performance, this State of the Union is a travesty,” Vance told the outlet.

“Tonight, he is going to stand before the American people and lie about the state of our economy, the security of our borders, and the safety of our people. To justify the president’s lies about the destruction his policies have brought to this country. I’m not interested in that,” he added.
