Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards may have had the best winning block in NBA history Thursday night against the Indiana Pacers — a mind-boggling block.
With the Timberwolves leading 113-111 with seconds left in the fourth quarter, Edwards missed a dagger 2-pointer and the Pacers got the rebound in time to tie the game.
Pacers guard Aaron Nesmith received a long pass and appeared to have a good chance to tie the game with a layup. But just before the final buzzer sounded, Edwards came flying out of nowhere and smashed the ball away.

In addition to securing the victory for his team, Edwards rose too high and hit his head on the rim before falling to the ground.
“I’m thinking above the rim,” Edwards said with a smile and his head in his hands after the game. “It really hurt and I landed on my wrist. But, I mean, I saw him in the lane. I knew he was going for a layup, but I was like, , “Oh, I’m going to go get this.” ”

“I have never jumped so high in my life.”
Edwards’ block was the defining moment of the night, but what he did for Minnesota with the score tied at 105 with 1:14 left in the fourth quarter was to rebuild his team.

Edwards first made a 3-pointer to make it 108-105, then after the Pacers missed a try at the other end, he made two pull-up shots to make it a five-point lead.
The Pacers were able to cut the lead to 110-108 against the T-Wolves, but Edwards hit a floater with 21.2 seconds left to extend the lead.
Edwards finished the game with a team-high 44 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks, including 18-of-35 from the field and 3-of-7 from 3-point land.
