President Biden’s re-election campaign launched a $30 million ad buy on Friday in the wake of Thursday night’s State of the Union address as the president heads to tour battleground states.

The ad spending exceeds what Biden’s campaign spent all of last year, said Rob Flaherty, Biden’s deputy campaign manager.

Flaherty said in a social media statement that Biden had the best fundraising period of the cycle after the State of the Union, and claimed, without providing numbers, that he set a fundraising record for an incumbent Democrat.

“The stupidest thing to do is underestimate Joe Biden,” Flaherty wrote on his X account.

Republicans condemned Biden’s aggressive speech, calling it “divisive,” “partisan” and “an utter disgrace.”

“I thought it was the most divisive State of the Union by the most out-of-touch president in American history,” Sen. Eric Schmidt (R-Missouri) told Fox News. “I thought that was strange.”

The president will visit Pennsylvania on Friday and also plans to tour Georgia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Michigan next week in preparation for a showdown with former President Donald Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Arizona and Nevada.

“We strongly believe this campaign will win in key states with multiple paths to 270,” said Biden campaign manager Julie. Everything is based on that premise.” Chavez Rodriguez said, according to Reuters.
