D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser was speaking at an arts festival in the nation’s capital on Friday morning when pro-Palestinian protesters rushed the stage.
Bowser was standing at the podium to announce the opening of Aromatic’s weekend community art exhibition on M Street when video showed two protesters charging at the stage. Ta. One woman was able to get on stage holding a “DC 4 CEASEFIRE” sign before she was removed by security.
“Oh, I’ll go. Thank you. Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Bowser said as the woman charged towards her.
The protester got within a few feet of Bowser’s microphone, but was stopped by security. She could be heard shouting “DC artists against apartheid” as she was led away. Video captured by FOX 5 DC is shown.

Bowser remained at the podium and security escorted the woman away before leaving. She returned to the stage a few minutes later. According to FOX 5 DC, she did not mention this incident when she returned to her lecture.
No injuries were reported. It is unclear how many protesters attended the event in total.
The night before, pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the Capitol in an apparent attempt to disrupt President Biden’s State of the Union address.
About an hour before Biden was scheduled to speak Thursday night, about 100 demonstrators showed up at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Third Street in Washington, D.C.

Some demonstrators were seen holding signs that read, “Biden’s legacy is genocide.”
Photos from the scene showed protesters, many wearing masks, blocking the street.
Fox 5 DC reported Earlier in the day, another pro-Palestinian protest broke out in nearby Lafayette Square around 6 p.m. ET.
Police announced that one person was arrested and charged with reckless driving.

These changes within the Democratic Party mean the partisan divide is even more pronounced now (43% pro-Israel vs. 42% pro-Palestinian) than it was in October (59% vs. 25%).
The left’s pro-Palestinian sentiment comes five months after Hamas terrorists launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 200 prisoners back to Gaza as hostages. Israel has invaded Gaza in retaliation and is leading a bombing campaign targeting Hamas infrastructure with the ultimate goal of eradicating the terrorist group. Thousands of Palestinian civilians were caught in the crossfire.
