The Washington Post reported that a transcript of Biden’s SOTU speech revealed that he did not actually say what Trump had claimed.

Biden has been open about his lifelong struggle with stuttering. While Biden was speaking about his campaign on stage at a debate in December 2019, he imitated the stuttering of a child he met and said he “couldn’t talk.”

In a later-deleted tweet, former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders wrote of the debate moment: “I have no idea what Biden is saying.” In another tweet, she clarified that she was not mocking people with speech disorders.
