Rep. Madeline Dean (D-Pennsylvania) said in an interview with CNN on Tuesday that former special counsel Robert Hur said during Mr. Hur’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee earlier Tuesday that some members of the committee Democrats pushed back against Mr. Ha’s attempts to exonerate the president. Joe Biden said that Ho had concluded that criminal charges were not warranted, saying, “You can play around with the semantics, but criminal charges are not warranted. He didn’t have enough evidence to bring charges.” He refused to press charges.”
Moderator Anderson Cooper said, “Some Democrats on the committee tried to get Mr. Heo to say he exonerated the president.” Mr. Xu disputed this, pointing out that those were not the words he used, and that he — this report does not exonerate the president.
Dean says, “But after what he calls a thorough investigation, there is no warrant for criminal charges. You can play around with the semantics, but they don’t warrant criminal charges.” He declined to prosecute because there was insufficient evidence.
Cooper also stated that he did not believe any of the charges would result in a conviction, ending the press conference.
