Vikings favored for J.J. McCarthy

There’s been a lot of musical chairs in the NFL lately, with several notable veteran quarterbacks switching teams and finding new homes.

All of this player movement has left rookie quarterbacks scrambling for answers as to where they will be taken in the upcoming NFL Draft, and that man is none other than Michigan’s JJ McCarthy.

DraftKings oddsmakers have a new clear favorite to select the Michigan man, with the Kirk Cousins-less Vikings leading DraftKings with +180 odds.

This is slightly down from +300 on Monday, when Cousins officially announced his departure from Minnesota to Atlanta.

Minnesota’s odds dropped to +150 on Wednesday, but bettors appear to have bought back on other teams that could potentially compete for McCarthy.

However, the Giants opted to bring in a capable backup, Drew Lock, in free agency.

Lock has shown some flashes of brilliance in past stops in Denver and Seattle.

The Giants are also in dire need of receivers, having struck out in free agency to this point.

McCarthy seems to be the one with the most mixed opinions on draft position, with initial thinking projecting him to be a late pick in the first round.

However, with recent optimism, he is expected to be available in the early to mid-first round.

And Denver may need to jump up and grab their franchise quarterback after kicking Russell Wilson to the curb.
