Vivian Khalaf, director of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, told CNN she was invited to a meeting with White House officials on Thursday but declined to attend. She made it clear in the interview that she was deeply dissatisfied with the Biden administration’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The White House would not comment on the outbreak of anti-Semitism in Chicago, the latest sign of which was the cancellation of a concert by Jewish musician Matisyahu due to “threat of protest” at the House of Blues. .

Biden administration officials met with Arab American and Muslim American leaders last month in Michigan, a key battleground state in the 2024 presidential election. One of the officials they met was an openly pro-terrorism leader in the region.
The Chicago meeting does not signal that the Illinois Democratic Party will definitely participate in the 2024 election. Rather, it recognizes the role Chicago communities play in overall Arab and Muslim American public opinion.
