Twice-Deported Illegal Charged with Sexually Abusing 6-12-Year-Old Girls

An illegal alien who was previously deported from the United States twice is accused of sexually abusing girls between the ages of 6 and 12 while working as a teacher at a church in Montgomery County, Maryland. .

Elvin Giovani Alfaro López, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested and charged in March with 25 counts of sexual assault against girls between the ages of 6 and 12, with the abuses starting in 2014. It is said to date back to.

Most of the alleged abuse occurred at Elim Misión Cristiana Church, where Lopez worked as a teacher. Lopez is accused of sexually abusing at least four girls at the church. During a meeting with the church’s pastor, Lopez reportedly admitted to abusing the girls because one of the girls was the pastor’s daughter.

Alfaro López is a citizen of El Salvador. He was first arrested by U.S. Border Patrol near Lake Charles, Louisiana, on March 23, 2015, after illegally entering the United States. He was issued a notice to appear before a federal judge and released on bail on April 1, 2015. He reported to a Justice Department immigration judge in Baltimore and was subsequently deported from the United States on September 26, 2018.

Alfaro-Lopez was rearrested in the United States on January 23, 2019. He was granted voluntary departure from the United States within 60 days from April 16, 2019, and departed the United States on April 30, 2019.

On March 9, 2020, Alfaro-Lopez was arrested by Border Patrol agents in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley after entering the country illegally. USBP processed him for expedited deportation, and he was deported on March 24, 2020.

In August 2023, Montgomery County police arrested Lopez on charges of second-degree rape and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. At the time, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials told FOX5 DC that they ordered Lopez to be taken into custody.

Montgomery County authorities ignored ICE detainees and released Lopez into the community just days after his arrest.

In September 2023, Lopez had a total of 12 child sexual abuse charges dating back to 2014 amended. Lopez was then arrested in March and charged with 13 additional counts of child sexual abuse that allegedly occurred between March 2016 and December 2018. .

Lopez remains held in the Montgomery County Detention Center without bail. ICE has again filed a detention petition against him, and agents will seek to take him into custody whenever he is released.
