On Thursday, Gianni Robinson, Trevion Randolph, Damian Hernandez and Dontral Bieber appeared before a Clark County District Court judge as their attorneys asked that all charges be dropped.

The teens are accused of killing classmate Jonathan Lewis, 17, near Rancho High School in Las Vegas last November.

Clark County District Court Judge Tierra Jones heard arguments from defense attorneys who argued there was not enough evidence to support the charges.

All four are charged with “conspiracy to commit assault resulting in great bodily harm” and “second-degree murder.”

“Conspiracy requires some sort of agreement, whether express or implied, or by coordinating a series of attacks,” said Daniel Martinez, an attorney representing Mr. Randolph. “Again, this video is highly thought-provoking. To your credit, there was nothing orchestrated about this. It was complete mayhem for everyone involved. That’s why I’m acting.”

During the hearing, Judge Jones promised to issue a written judgment soon, but did not say when. The four were taken back to a nearby juvenile facility for the next day, December 14th.thAppeared in court in 2023.

It was also reported that in addition to the four teenage boys, five other people were also arrested and taken away for questioning. However, authorities say the five unidentified people have not yet been charged.
