Estranged wife of accused NYC subway maniac shot in head during fight dumped him because he was increasingly ‘aggressive’

The wife of a Brooklyn subway passenger who was derailed and shot in the head during Thursday’s commute told the Post on Friday that she dumped him last year because he became too “aggressive.”

Lisa Sweat, the estranged spouse of unhinged armed straphanger Dajuan Robinson, 36, said her husband, a construction worker, had not shown any signs of mental health problems when they were together. , said she had to help her husband because he had “changed.” ”

“He may have been drinking,” she said Thursday. “I think that’s the only thing that makes him that way.”

Police say the 32-year-old man grabbed a gun during the struggle and used it against his attacker.

The 32-year-old man was arrested before he could get onto the platform, NYPD Traffic Commissioner Michael Kemper said.

Prosecutors on Friday declined to prosecute Mr. Obouad, saying it was a case of self-defense.

Mr Robinson’s wife said she was shocked to hear of her estranged husband’s actions.

“That’s not the Oizumi I know,” Sweat said.

“I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it,” said his wife, who said she was an Iraq veteran and now works as a bartender and waitress at Applebee’s.

“When he was with me, he didn’t have a gun. We didn’t do that,” she said.

“He worked on a construction site. We were in a shelter together. We got an apartment. We did what we had to do. Then he changed a little. . But he’s not a bad guy, he’s not a bad guy.
“I never imagined something like this would happen,” Sweat said.

“He’s never taken his medication. He’s very upset…Detectives came to the house. I didn’t understand why they were here. We’ve been apart for a year now. I was there.

“The last time we talked, it wasn’t a bad conversation,” she said, adding that the two had no children. “He said, ‘I hope you’re okay,’ and that was it. It was like last year. It’s been a while since I talked to him.

“I saw it on the news, I saw it on video. He’s crazy. He’s not a bad person, he’s not someone I know.”
