Transgender actor Elliot Page has slammed Hollywood producers who feel queer films aren’t for mainstream audiences.
Speaking on stage at London’s gay film festival BFI Flair, Page insisted gay films shouldn’t be “niche”. investigation claimed that 30 percent of American youth identify as LGBTQQIAAP2S+.

“I hate having to say it. [that I feel lucky] That shouldn’t happen and there should be a lot of transgender actors out there,” Page said.

Regarding the new film, which will be released in September, the star formerly known as Ellen Page said the most important thing is for audiences to know what it’s like to perform scenes shirtless after undergoing transition surgery.
Mr Page said it was important to open people’s minds to gay issues.
Currently, her preferred pronouns are “he/him” and “they/them,” and Paige identifies herself as “non-binary.”
Page also reportedly argued that acting awards need to be “gender-neutral.”
Some major awards, including the Oscars, have already eliminated categories such as Best Actress to make them more neutral, a trend Page agrees with.
“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” she said. Said entertainment weekly. “And, again, this kind of anomalous aspect, that’s the only category, right? Where would something like that happen? So, hopefully, we don’t have that degree of dualistic thinking. I want to start moving beyond that.”
