No one expected fans to congratulate opposing players after a big win, but will they storm the field? I don’t know how many people expected that to happen, but that’s exactly what happened in Turkey on Sunday.
The bizarre and wild scene came after Fenerbahce defeated Trabzonspor 3-2 in a thrilling Turkish Super Lig match that ended with a late goal.
Fenerbahce celebrated in the center of the field, but everything seemed quite normal until the Trabzonspor fans, not content with mere boos, decided to storm the field.

At first, only one fan, dressed in black, came out of the stands to challenge the opposing team, but other fans soon followed.
In Turkey, there were wild and frightening scenes as Trabzonspor fans stormed onto the field and tried to attack Fenerbahce players as they celebrated their 3-2 come-from-behind victory. 😳

Security personnel did their best to intervene, but the situation quickly got out of control.
A shocking scene. You can clearly see that this Trabzonspor fan has a knife or some other weapon in his hand. Fenerbahce players were well within their rights to defend themselves 🇹🇷👊 pic.twitter.com/4V1SEN1SbL

Several X users claimed that the fans, who were dressed in black, were armed. Fenerbahce defended well but eventually had to retreat inside the stadium to escape an angry mob.
Embarrassing act by Turkish fans. Trabzonspor fans attacked Fenerbahce players and Livaković was one of the victims.
An unknown object was thrown at Livakovic and someone hit him.

It is unclear how many people have been arrested or whether Trabzonspor will face any punishment for the incident.
