Three people were killed and a third seriously injured after an SUV reportedly crashed into a bus stop in San Francisco, city officials confirmed Sunday.
A Mercedes SUV crashed into a bus stop in the city’s West Portal neighborhood Saturday afternoon, authorities said. Associated Press (AP). Police said one adult and one child were pronounced dead at the scene, and the second adult later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

Another child was in critical condition at a local hospital and two others, including the driver of the car, were being treated for injuries, law enforcement said. San Francisco Chronicle. Flowers and messages of condolence were posted at the scene of the crash by tearful friends and local residents on Sunday, the paper said. Police have not yet released the names of the dead, but Rogelio Faleiro, one of the families gathered at the bus stop, said he knew family members among the victims.
“They were a great family,” he said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Faleiro added that the man is 40 years old, his wife is 38 years old and their infant is 1 year old.
