The Biden campaign on Monday released an ad featuring former President Donald Trump’s out-of-context remarks about the “disaster” that would occur in the U.S. auto industry if President Joe Biden is re-elected.
The ad is the Biden campaign’s latest effort to seize on America First policies and spin them into an anti-Trump narrative.
“The Trump campaign may say whatever it wants, but the context is clear: Their candidate has spent every moment since his first campaign encouraging and condoning political violence,” Biden said. campaign spokeswoman Sarafina Chitica said. Said politiko. “Let me repeat: It’s not a bug, it’s a hallmark of Donald Trump’s extremism. We take President Trump at his word, and so will voters.”
A transcript of President Trump’s statement exposes the inaccuracy of the Biden campaign’s narrative.
Mr. Trump said:
If you’re listening, President Xi and you and I are friends – but he understands how I deal with – those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico now…you… We’re not going to hire Americans, and you’re going to sell us cars, no. I’m going to impose a 100 percent tariff on every car that comes through the line, and if I win, I won’t be able to sell those cars.
If I don’t get elected, the whole thing will be a disaster – that would be the bare minimum. …It would be a bloodbath for the country. That would be the bare minimum. But they have no intention of selling those cars. They are building large factories.
Nevertheless, the Biden campaign’s ad decontextualizes President Trump’s comments about jobs and the American auto industry.
“Fake news made a big deal out of the term ‘bloodbath’ knowing it was about the downsizing of our car manufacturing business and they always use the same name. They is really bad! Trump Posted On True Social Monday.
