Infant dies 3 days after San Francisco bus stop crash killed family members

An infant whose parents and siblings were killed when an SUV crashed into a San Francisco bus stop over the weekend has died, authorities said Wednesday.

Superintendent Myrna Melgar, who represents the area where Saturday’s accident occurred, confirmed the child’s death, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Melgar said the infant was transferred to palliative care due to the severity of his injuries.

A baby’s father and 1-year-old brother were killed when an SUV crashed into a bus stop in the West Portal neighborhood, San Francisco police said. The baby’s mother died the next day.

Police announced Monday that the 78-year-old woman driving the SUV was arrested and charged with felony vehicular manslaughter causing death and reckless driving causing death.
