Fox News host Pete Hegseth asked “Fox & Friends” viewers and co-hosts Sunday to bow their heads and pray for a sponsored segment on the Bible app.
“There’s going to be more ‘Fox and Friends,’ but you know, if you’ve been through transition before, this is transition for transition’s sake,” he said. Saidlaughter.
Then Weekend co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy interjected: “So it’s ‘Fox & Friends.'”
“This is very much ‘Fox and Friends,'” agreed Hegseth. “I’m mentally prepared.”
“Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent. Our prayer series continues with prayer readings from the Hallow app,” Hegseth continued. “We all need it. Let’s do it this morning. Close your eyes. Bow your head if you can.”
He then began reading a prayer on the screen in the Hallow app while Campos Duffy and third host Will Kane bowed their heads.
“Jesus, from today we begin the holy period of the tide of passion,” Hegseth read. “In the last two weeks of Lent, help us to understand the mystery of your sacrifice and surrender. Make us acutely aware of your love for us. Let us know and help us feel the blessings of your presence.”
Hegseth thanked Christ for “the selfless love he showed me on the cross” and concluded: “Thank you again to Harrow for this partnership during Lent.”
“Amen,” Campos-Duffy said.
