Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci joked Friday that he and other former Trump administration officials are part of a “Trump recovery unit.”
“[L]Just talk about your colleagues and friends, because we’re kind of in this Trump recovery squad together. [former Defense Secretary Mark Esper], [retired Gen. Mark Milley, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff]” Scaramucci Said In a clip featured by Mediaite on Friday’s MSNBC “Morning Joe.”
Scaramucci’s comments were in response to a question from host Joe Scarborough about why he believes former President Trump is “very dangerous to the republic if re-elected.” .
Scaramucci also spoke about the “big” fight he had with Trump over the “institution of the presidency” during his short tenure in the White House.
“You know, we’re there to serve people,” Scaramucci said. “As we all know, this is the only job in this country where all eligible voters can vote, so you are everyone’s president.”
“Mr. Trump doesn’t think that way,” Scaramucci continued. “Mr. Trump considers it self-aggrandizement, an honorable position, and he can make a little money on the side, and that’s fine too.”
In an interview with CNN last week, Scaramucci described Trump as “the most un-American presidential candidate in American history.”
“You have to note that Trump is the most un-American presidential candidate in the history of the United States,” Scaramucci said in an interview with host Caitlan Collins on CNN’s “The Source.” “And we have to take a hard look at what he’s going to do as it relates to becoming president of the United States.”
