This season was a low point for the Wolverines. The team won just eight games and lost a program-record 24 games. The Wolverines ended the season with nine straight losses.
Maye led the Owls to a surprise appearance in the Final Four in the 2022-23 season. They were 25-9 this season and 14-4 in the conference.
FAU was bounced by No. 9 Northwestern as the No. 8 seed. The Wildcats led by nine points with eight minutes remaining, but FAU fought back with a 13-2 run to take the lead. FAU’s Vlad Goldin tried for a one-and-one with 26 seconds left with a two-goal lead, but missed after making the previous six, giving the Cats one last chance. Brooks Bernhizer tied the game with a layup with nine seconds left, thwarting a potential buzzer-beater for FAU and sending the game into overtime.

All overtime was won by the Wildcats, and while FAU missed the first four, the Wildcats missed all five of their shot attempts, coming too late for the Owls’ next comeback.
Maye went 126-69 in his six years at Florida Atlantic, finishing with a winning record in each season, but has seen the wins really add up over the past two years.
