WATCH: Igor Severino Disqualified and Fired by UFC After Biting Opponent

Promising Igor Severino, who made his UFC debut on Saturday night, was disqualified for biting an opponent and later released by the promotion.

Severino, 20, was fighting Andre Lima at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas when the young Brazilian inexplicably grabbed his opponent’s bicep as both men jockeyed for position near the cage. It bit into my veins.

The action-packed bout was quickly halted by referee Chris Tognoni, who separated the fighters as a medical team was ushered into the Octagon to examine Lima’s arm.

Tognoni declared Lima the winner after Severino was disqualified. With Severino falling to 8-1, Lima’s record now stands at 8-0. But of greater concern to Severino is the fact that his UFC career is over.

UFC President Dana White texted Yahoo’s Kevin Ior after the fight that Severino was released from production.

“Those two were up-and-coming undefeated fighters,” White wrote to Ior. “If you get frustrated and want to get out of the match, there are many ways to do it, but the worst thing you can do is bite your opponent. Now, you get cut and you lose the biggest opportunity of your life. Needless to say, he actually You will have a problem. [Nevada State Athletic Commission]”

Not that the UFC is enjoying this incident. Photo of White and Lima announcing that they won the first-ever “I Got F*cking Bit Bonus.”

Lima used some of the fight fund to get a bonus tattoo around the bite mark.
