Trevor Bauer has returned to the mound against MLB teams and has yet to allow a single run.
Bauer, who pitched for the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, faced a New York Yankees team that had multiple major leaguers on each day, unlike the minor league group he previously played against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bauer started for the Diablos Rojos and played against Yankees Anthony Volpe, Giancarlo Stanton, Oswaldo Cabrera and Jose Trevino in hopes of making the Major League roster this season.

Bauer pitched three innings, allowing four hits and two walks, and striking out three batters. But importantly, by the end of the afternoon match in Mexico City, they had conceded zero goals.
Before Opening Day later this week, he was able to get the Yankees the first spot in the exhibition game, but ran into trouble in the top of the second inning. Bauer walked No. 9 batter Greg Allen to load the bases, and Volpe came up to bat with the score 0-0.
However, after making a short visit to the mound to make sure that Bauer was ready to get out of a situation where the bases were loaded with two outs, Bauer struck out Volpe on four pitches and maintained his scoreless streak. After Volpe whiffed on a breaking ball, he fired up and beat his chest in satisfaction as the Diablos Rojos faithful cheered.

In the third inning, Bauer struck out Stanton and then allowed consecutive singles to Cabrera and Oscar Gonzalez. But he settled down again, striking out Jose Rojas and grounding out Trevino to end the inning.
Bauer said early last week that he intended to play for the Diablos from April 11 to May 8, a “traditional spring training period,” in hopes that an MLB team would sign him and add him to the rotation.
Bauer, 33, is seeking a return to MLB after initially being suspended for a record 324 games for 194 days after a woman accused him of sexual assault. Prosecutors decided not to prosecute in February 2022, and the case was settled last fall.

Bauer has strongly denied all allegations against him, insisting his contact with the woman was consensual. When prosecutors did not press charges, the woman eventually filed charges against him and Mr. Bauer filed a countersuit.
He has stated that he would like to play at the league minimum for a team that wants to showcase his pitching talent in 2024.
In a game against the Dodgers for the Japan-based independent team Asian Breeze, Bauer hit a 99 mph fastball and his secondary pitches looked sharp. The same was true against the Yankees, where his fastball remained in the low 90s.
“It’s not about the money,” he told reporters after performing with Asian Breeze. “I’ve been suspended twice. I’ve been cleared of everything in the legal system. If you think about it logically, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t have a job.
“But I don’t. I mean, it’s what it is. We’ll see how it plays out. I don’t want to predict the future. We’ll see. .”
