Houston survives major March Madness scare to beat Texas A&M

One of the favorites to win the NCAA Tournament survived one of the biggest scares of March Madness ever.

After Texas A&M’s regulation-breaking buzzer-beater, No. 1 Houston regained its composure and defeated the Aggies 100-95 in overtime of a second-round South Division game on Sunday night.

Texas A&M’s Anderson Garcia made a 3-pointer at the buzzer, tying the score at 86-all to end the second half.

But Houston pushed a little too hard in the overtime session and was able to hold on, taking a 97-93 lead on Jamal Shihead’s jumper with 30 seconds left.
