Biden campaign builds up communications team with 4 new hires

President Biden’s re-election campaign has added four members to its communications team, The Hill exclusively reported.

The campaign hired Mia Ehrenberg as national spokesperson, Charles Luttwak as national spokesperson, Fabiola Rodriguez as deputy director of Hispanic media, and Catalina Fricker as deputy director of strategic communications. The new employees will begin their duties in the coming weeks and will all be based at the campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.

In its announcement, the campaign harshly criticized former President Trump’s campaign for lagging behind in fundraising while the Biden-Harris campaign was able to build and grow its team.

“With Donald Trump hiding out in Mar-a-Lago and unable to afford the infrastructure or assembling a team to compete this fall, the Biden-Harris team continues to build its communications structure and prepare for a hotly contested general election. We are prepared,” the newspaper reported. motion.

Ehrenberg previously served as Department of Homeland Security spokesperson, where she focused on the impeachment process against Alejandro Mayorkas. Prior to that, she served as communications director for former Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney of New York.

Mr. Rutvak previously served as chief deputy press secretary to New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), and Mr. Rodriguez served as press secretary to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. Mr. Rodriguez also served as deputy national spokesperson and Hispanic media advisor for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee during the 2020 cycle.

Mr. Fricker previously served as deputy press secretary for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee and worked on Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D-Ga.) 2022 Senate campaign press team.

“We are proud of the talented and tenacious team in Wilmington and battleground states where these skilled and accomplished communicators will continue to convey President Biden and Vice President Harris’ vision for a future with more freedom and democracy. We’re thrilled to have you join us so Donald Trump will be the loser again this November,” communications director Michael Tyler said in a statement.

The new additions come after a strong February for the Biden campaign, during which it raised about $53 million and entered March with a total of $155 million in cash on hand.
