White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is furious. I hung up President Joe Biden said in a radio interview after the host asked him if he had dementia.
Jean-Pierre asked the forbidden question while speaking to WBT News Director Mark Garrison on Tuesday.
“When I told some people what I was talking about with you today, it was funny, but they all said, ‘Why don’t you just ask her?'” Does the President have dementia? ” So before I go any further, he is, right? said Garrison.
“It’s–Mark, Mark, I can’t believe you’re asking me a question like that. It’s clearly an offensive question,” Jean-Pierre responded.
“But you know when people ask that?” Garrison replied.
“Wait. Oh, let me — no, no, no, no, no. You — Mark, you, you, you, you, you’re taking us down this rabbit hole. Be clear about this. Let me tell you,” Jean-Pierre said.
“In recent years, the president’s physician has provided a very comprehensive account of the president’s health. This is the president — if you watch him every day and really pay attention to his record and actions. , it really goes to show how focused he has been on the American people and how historic his actions are,” she added.
“So I’m really, really, really not even going to accept the premise of your question,” Jean-Pierre continued. “I think this is incredibly insulting. And now that we can, we can move on to the next question.”
Garrison also confronted Jean-Pierre about rising gas and food prices, which she blamed on former President Donald Trump, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and the coronavirus pandemic before ending the interview.
“Thanks to this president’s work, those costs have come down. So, thank you very much, Mark,” Jean-Pierre said. “Have a wonderful, wonderful day.”
Garrison’s co-hosts expressed shock at the White House press secretary’s inability to address difficult but fair questions.
“Wow, great, great,” said the host.
“I’m sorry, but you asked three or four very salient and important questions, and they were all in your head. Nothing will cross the line,” he said, adding, “This person I don’t understand how vulnerable they are.”
