Tiger Woods fired me after I made him $60 million: first agent

Hughes Norton is no longer hiding his decades-long grudge against Tiger Woods.

The former golf super agent has published a new book, “Rainmaker,” detailing his career and relationship with Woods.

Norton was Woods’ first agent and helped broker Woods’ first contract with Nike and Titleist in 1996 worth $60 million.

Two years later, Woods fired him.

According to the Daily Mail, Norton claims in his shocking book: During the shootout, Woods was “expressionless” and had “zombie-like” eyes.

“This was a betrayal with a capital B,” Norton told the Daily Mail in an interview promoting the book, released on Tuesday.

“On a professional level, I thought I had done my job properly. On a personal level, too, because it was like denying the relationship we had for 10 years together.”

This adds a new chapter to Woods’ off-course drama, which has sparked numerous scandals throughout his three decades as one of the world’s most prominent athletes.

“The consolation I can take, which isn’t very helpful, is that he was an equal-opportunity zombie with relationships, swing coach, lawyer, IMG representation contract negotiations, and caddies. When that’s over, it’s over.” writes Norton in the book, the Mail reported.

“That’s how he ends relationships with everyone, whether it’s his girlfriend or his former golf coach. It’s really ironic. In a way, he’s very good at confrontations on the golf course. If he was playing you, he would beat you over the head every time. But when it comes to facing his own life like me and other people, he has no social skills at all. No. In fact, that’s infuriating.”

Norton, who also represented Greg Norman, was fired by his agency IMG two months after Woods dumped him.

Woods replaced Norton with Marc Steinberg of Excel Sports, who has been representing him ever since.

Woods, 48, has had multiple caddies throughout his career, which includes 15 major wins.

He made headlines, including his breakup with ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2009 after it was discovered that he had cheated on her multiple times.

During his recent breakup with Erica Herman, she claimed that Woods tricked her into moving out of the house they shared in order to move her belongings before ending their relationship.

Herman sued Woods for $30 million, but dropped the case after losing numerous times in court.

Woods is expected to play in next month’s Masters after missing the Genesis Invitational with the flu.
